Businesses mobilise as demand for Cloud systems increases
According to new research from Fonality and Webtorials there is a rapidly growing increase in demand for Mobile and Cloud-based applications. The report "State of the Market 2011 Report: Mobility Trends in SMBs" has cited the increased use of tablet computers and the report's authors are anticipating this is likely to become the standard device within 18 months.
We have seen this trend emerge from its earliest beginnings back in 2000 and many of our long term clients have leveraged our solutions to enable their businesses to mobilise and cut cost. Interestingly the "Cut Cost" strategy has become the latest buzzword for consultants and social network Trolls and lurkers are waving the term "Lean" as the latest thread of Eutopian business wisdom.
When we step aside from all the waffle what exactly is going here ?
Managing and maintaining infrastructure is expensive, as are leased or purchased facilities. The continuing stream of legislation and bureaurocracy from government in respect of individuals rights, corporate responsibility and employment law adds up to making business a very difficult proposition. The trend and indeed desire for employees to now work from home rather than broil in the stress pressure cooker of the morning commute means that the only obstacle left for tertiary businesses is the middle management tier. The workers want the freedom to work where they like and in some cases when they like, the senior executives want to unbridle the cost of buildings, systems and infrastructure.
The cloud is the perfect solution and with the rapid emergence of smartphones and tablet computers, then moving to a Software as a Service cloud-based infrastruture makes absolute sense. We already have a good percentage of our client base who have already done this to great effect. In one case the client was able to end the lease on their offices, place staff working from home, which essentially looked like regional offices and move all their business data and logic into the Cloud using iSAM. This resulted in a massive decrease in overheads and a corresponding boost in profitability.
Cloud access for every business
We are in the final processing of our iSAM Mobi 3.0 release which is due to market in the next 3 weeks.
