You Tube Embedded video - Issues and Solutions
Recent changes to You Tube (True as at Jan 15 2011) have left some iSAM users scratching their heads when it comes to embedding videos into articles for their website. The new HTML 5 compliant code, which, I might add, we welcome here at Abazander doesn't survive the security preprocessing when entered into an article using the editor.
Fortunately one of our users has discovered that the old Embedd code is still available for you to use, Alec kindly provided us with the following information
YouTube have put in a box that allows you to use the 'old' Embed code. Click on Embed code and then check the third box under the code 'use old Embed code' and the code changes to the old style. There is also a news item here on the You Tube API Blog
Hopefully this resolves the issue for you.
In regard to the move to HTML 5 we welcome this as HTML 5 makes implementing video and audio much simpler and standardises the web for better usage overall, HTML 5 offers many upcoming advantages particular in regard to performance enhancements that iSAM will be able to benefit from. Our 007 release in October 2010 replaced the Flash-based reporting engine with HTML 5 immediately enabling iSAM as a viable app on the iPad and other tablet PC's and of course mobile devices.
